Parenting Challenges

Are you feeling completely overwhelmed by the prospect of parenting your triplets? Are you having problems feeling connected to your baby? Are you reeling from the crisis of an early delivery and NICU admission? Was your baby born with an unexpected birth anomaly?

We have extensive expertise in helping clients cope with parenting challenges, such as:

Constance facilitated a triplet support group for over 3 years. She can help you navigate the highs and lows involved in parenting higher order multiples and help you celebrate this incredible journey. She can help you discover how other parents of multiples manage; teach you invaluable tricks for feeding, sleeping and diapering; connect you with support groups in your area; and identify other resources available to you.

Constance also worked with families whose babies were critically ill in the NICU for almost 9 years. Using this experience, she can help you identify resources to understand the medical aspects of prematurity and help you cope with the emotional aspects of parenting your preemie. She will help you develop your parental identity and identify ways to feel that you are staying connected to your baby in the NICU. She can help you navigate the often overwhelming NICU medical system and teach you ways to become an integral part of your baby’s health care team.

Finally, Constance can come to your home and conduct an in-home (or in your pediatrician’s office) Family Administered Neonatal Assessment to help you learn more about your baby’s competencies and feel more connected to your baby.
