CCP Privacy Policies
CCP’s Social Media Policy:
CCP therapists and staff do not accept friend or contact requests from current or former clients on any social networking site (such as Facebook or LinkedIn). Please do not be offended by this practice. Adding clients as friends or contacts on these sites can compromise the client’s confidentiality and privacy, and it may also blur the boundaries of the therapeutic relationship. This policy is for your protection.
For your protection, CCP therapists and staff do not send any substantive email communications to their clients. Although all of CCP’s computers are password protected and encrypted, we cannot guarantee the confidentiality of email communications. With email communications, there is always some chance that a third party may be able to intercept and eavesdrop on those messages. These potential interceptions might include: people in your home or other environments who can access your phone, computer, or other devices that you use to read and write messages; your employer or co-workers, if you use your work phone or email to communicate with CCP; and/or third parties on the Internet, such as server administrators and others who monitor Internet traffic.
If you have a matter that cannot wait until your next scheduled appointment, please email or call CCP or your individual therapist and let us know if you would like to schedule a phone consultation (which will be billed at the same rates as an in-office session, although phone consultations that are under 5 minutes, will not be billed), or if you would like to schedule an additional in-office session before your next regularly scheduled session. If you choose to communicate confidential information via email, we will assume that you have made an informed decision and we will view it as your agreement to take the risk that your email may be intercepted.
This same policy applies to cell phone texting. Although therapists’ cell phones are password protected, they are not encrypted and will only be used by a CCP therapist, if at all, for scheduling issues. Again, if you choose to communicate confidential information with CCP via text, we will assume that you have made an informed decision and we will view it as your agreement to take the risk that your text may be intercepted.
